Ogido

Contemporary, also called ‘akuba’ or ‘conga’- may be called ‘duuru’ as well. Has a rythm that sound like combination of Dundun and Apesin. Mostly used as part of ensemble of drums in modern Yoruba musics.

For it moving beat, ogido is the drum of choice in traditional Aladura places of worship across Yorubaland.

Ogido is the drum mostly found with drummers not originally from drumming lineage.

Ogido drum is used more for rhythm than talking.
